2012 National Championships – February 25th/26th

We encourage you to come out this weekend to support Poo Choi Wayne “Iron Man” Labine and Kru Noel “Black Jack” Hussey. Your Nak Muay brothers are competing this weekend in Tournament style action to regain yet another Canadian National Championship!

Other than winning, there is nothing better for an athlete than hearing a familiar voice from the crowd encouraging you to press on…so let’s show them our support!!

When: February 25th and 25th THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
Where: Brant Hills Community Centre 2255 Brant Street, Burlington Ontario L7P 5C8
Time: Tournament action starts at 1pm, however, our guys start their competition in the Quarterfinal bracket “B” that starts at 6PM. WHEN they win those matches, they will have to compete again on Sunday afternoon at 1pm in bracket “C”
Cost:
$20 per day. CASH ONLY. $10 Children under 13, and Seniors over 65

  • Mountain Climbers to Pushups 40 reps – 4 sets (After every 3 Mountain Climbers, perform 1 Pushup)
  • Squat to Front Kick 20 reps per leg – 3 sets
  • Pushups into Plank/Tower 10 reps – 3 sets
  • Situps to Knee Raises 10 reps – 3 sets

  • Calf Raises 40 reps – 4 sets
  • Deep Squats 25 reps – 4 sets
  • Standing Leg Lifts 25 reps per leg – 4 sets (Use a chair, the coffee table, your toddler, anything so that you can lift your foot higher than your hips)
  • Dips 25 reps – 4 sets (Use a chair, the edge of your tub, the end of your couch or even one of your stairs if you have to)
  • Pushups Maximum reps – 4 sets (On your last set, you must beat the number of reps from your third set…so MAKE SURE that you remember it)

  • Squat Jumps 25 reps – 4 sets
  • Split leg lunges 25 reps – 4 sets (Count each time your left leg goes forward)
  • Dive bombers 10 reps – 4 sets 
  • V pushups 10 reps – 4 sets (Ensure to look behind you as if you wanted the top of your head to touch the floor…note that we said “AS IF…”)
  • Bootstrappers 20 reps – 4 sets (Reaching on the outside and then the inside of your knees is one count)

Video Included: I’ve heard that we do “Mai Tai”, “Moo Tai” and of course “It’s Kickboxing just with elbows and knees”. As much as these drive us crazy, we do not get teased as much as our Kung Fu, Karate and Tae Kwon Do bretheren. Motivation – No Excuses!

Video Included: I’m supposed to say something witty to poke fun at that bed-wetting grade 5 inner voice that you argue with when deciding if you are going to train today. I’m also supposed to tie it back to the fact that the two of you, (your current voice and the bed-wetting grade 5 inner voice that you argue with), are the cause of you missing your fitness goals. After viewing this one…it would just be overkill…

In December 2012, when you look back at the year and compare your fitness goals to the things that were “so important”…will the mirror in front of you agree with  that bed-wetting grade 5 inner voice that you argue with when deciding if you are going to train today?

TG Open House – Family Day Long Weekend

On Saturday February 18, 2012 Training Ground will be hosting a FREE Open House from 10am-5pm. We invite you, your family and friends to join us for a day of classes, contests, prizes and fun! Please feel free to forward the attached flyer, Facebook “Like” this post, Tweet it or do it the old fashioned way and simply drag your peeps down!
All attendees get a ballot for our Grand Prize…an Android Tablet…but wait…there’s more! If you bring a visitor with you, we give you another ballot.
